Holism and holistic medicine are often thought of as new concepts only recently developed, but they are actually rooted in antiquity.  Ancient cultures such as the Indians, Chinese, Europeans, Native Americans, and others, have applied holistic principles in their healing practices for centuries.  As early as 5,000 B.C., the physician sages formulating the healing traditions of Ayurvedic medicine from India and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from China recognized that health represented a balance of body, mind, spirit, and the universe.  This belief was, and remains, the underlying foundation in the healing traditions of indigenous peoples around the globe. . . . In the HAI Herbal Preparations Course, you will discover that herbal medicine making is fundamental to every culture on the planet, and accessible to everyone.  Covered are the herbal actions and indications for numerous herbs; the fundamentals of gardening, harvesting, drying, garbling, and storing herbs;. and detailed information concerning the essential equipment, materials, and processes for herbal medicine making.  Step-by-step instructions are provided for making numerous herbal preparations including water infusions and decoctions, hydrosols, flower essences, tinctures, wine infusions, vinegar infusions, glycerin infusions, oil infusions, ointments, salves, balms, lotions creams, syrups, honeys, poultices, and much, much more.  In this extensive course, you will gain the herbal medicine-making wisdom necessary to create an herbal pharmacy tailored to your lifestyle; develop and refine your medicine making skills to suit your needs; and prepare your very own superior quality herbal medicines.
