ADMISSIONS
AND ENROLLMENT
ADMISSIONS
POLICY: At HAI, we
believe that students who can exhibit the desire, self-discipline, and
motivation to learn through independent study are surely deserving of the
learning opportunity. Whether you are
eighteen or eighty-eight, high school graduate or doctorate, homemaker or
physician, our doors are open.
SELF-PACED
LEARNING: Because HAI’s
typical student is an adult learner with family and professional
responsibilities, our flexible learning format works within your own
schedule. You may enroll at any time and
progress at your own pace as the rest of your life plan allows. Although, learning at HAI is
self-paced, we do ask that all courses and programs be completed within two
years of the initial enrollment date.
Most of our courses require about sixty hours of study time. Some students are able to complete a course
in as little as two weeks, while others may take a month or more. Our programs then, each consisting of three
to twelve courses, can easily be completed within one to two years or even less
with a regular study routine.
GRADING: We make every effort to grade exams as
quickly as possible. Our current turn
around time is three to four weeks. A
passing score is 80%; anyone who scores lower than this is offered an
opportunity to repeat those sections that do not meet this standard. When all of your academic and financial
requirements have been met, you will receive an official course transcript
along with your personalized course certificate. Additionally, when all of the courses required
for your program are completed, you will then receive an official program transcript
along with your personalized program certificate or diploma.
TRANSFER OF
CREDITS: With the
exception of the HHP Program, you may receive credit for up to two courses per
program for course work previously completed with another institution. We are happy to review transcripts of
previous course work prior to enrollment so you will know the actual course
requirements for your program of choice.
Please send transcript review
requests to admissions@holisticartsinstitute.com
so that our Director may determine the transferability of courses previously
completed.
COURSE
FORMAT: The structure
of each HAI course provides a pathway for learning and facilitates the
comprehensive study of a topic. Our
courses are all taught through a distance learning format. Courses consist of one or more textbooks, handbooks, or CDs, plus an HAI developed workbook. Presented in a number of modules, the course
workbook leads you step-by-step through reading and writing assignments,
progress tests, and a final exam. Most
courses require projects that are designed to bring a practical dimension to
your studies.
NONDISCRIMINATION: HAI does not
discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, race,
national origin, religion, or disability.
FINANCIAL AID: While HAI does not offer grants or scholarships, we do seek to assist students through interest free financing options. MORE INFORMATION!
STUDENT WITHDRAWAL POLICY:
If you withdraw from an HAI course or
program 1-30 days after enrollment, provided all course materials are returned
in their original condition, HAI will grant you a full refund of all tuition
paid less shipping costs. If you
withdraw 31-60 days after enrollment, HAI will grant you a 50% refund less
shipping costs. Additional deductions
will be made for course materials that are not returned in their original
condition. If you withdraw after 60
