I have completed the Healing with Whole Foods course and I must say WHAT AN EYE OPENER.  Wow, no kidding it has changed my life!  It is incredible!  I have really changed my eating habits and incorporated many of the "quality" foods the author recommends as well as the TCM practices.  I am also beginning to live my life according to the Chinese Clock! :)

The Healing Benefits
of Water

Water is a medium that is able to amplify and send energetic wave patterns.  The ability of water to copy, memorize, and carry energetic signals and messages was shown in the 1980s by researcher Jacque Benveniste.  In an experiment, he exposed ordinary water to the recorded signals of acetylcholine and ovalbumin.  The recordings were then introduced to isolated guinea pig hearts.  The effects of the digitized water were identical to the effects on the heart produced by the actual substances of acetylcholine and ovalbumin.  This experiment and others like it, although controversial, provide insight into the importance of water in cellular communication and the ability of water to duplicate and transmit the energy frequencies of a substance.  The ability of water to copy and memorize information is also the theory behind the potentization process that is used in homeopathy (Lloyd 65). . . The Colorful Spectrum

of Phytonutrients

From the faint blush on a ripe peach to the vibrant purple of concord grapes, the beautiful colors of fruits and vegetables are imparted by natural chemicals called phytochemicals or phytonutrients.  These nutrients not only give plants their color, they also provide flavor, and natural disease resistance.  Plants form phytonutrients to protect themselves from disease, and these properties, fortunately, extend to us.  The primary benefits of these natural chemicals lie in their abilities as antioxidants to fight premature aging, prevent disease, and aid the body to resist cancer.  There are many, many thousands of phytonutrients that work synergistically to support our health.  Tomatoes alone are believed to contain an estimated ten thousand different phytonutrients (Balch 48). . . . In the HAI Healing with Whole Foods Course, you will discover a wealth of information on health, diet, alternative medicine, and natural food preparation and presentation.  You will learn how to bring together authentic traditions of Asian medicine with current Western research on health and nutrition to plan and prepare an optimal diet.  Featured are current guidelines on nutrition basics, such as the protein/vitamin B12 group, fats and oils, sugars and sweeteners, water, salt, seaweeds, “green foods” (micro-algae and cereal grasses), calcium, oxygen, and other nutritional concerns.  Clear discussions of the Chinese healing arts applied to physical and emotional conditions, including the Eight Principles (Six Divisions of Yin and Yang), Five Elements, and syndromes of the internal organs are presented.  Also included are insights from Ayurvedic medicine of India.  You will acquire information for making a gentle transition from a diet based on animal products to one centered on whole grains and fresh vegetables.  Sections on weight loss, heart and vascular renewal, female health, digestive problems, Candida yeast infections, root canals, food combining, fasting, children, pregnancy, and aging are provided.  Detailed “Regeneration Diets” are covered as well as herbal treatments for cancer, arthritis, mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, AIDS, and other degenerative conditions.  Over three hundred hearty, purely vegetarian (vegan) recipes are included, as well as the healing properties of plant and animal foods.
